Candy Jackson Seriously Injured in Clinton NC Crash

A woman named Candy Jackson was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash last Tuesday near Clinton, North Carolina.

The crash happened Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of NC 242 and State Road 1338.  According to reported information, a man driving a 2006 Nissan eastbound on State Road 1338 did not stop at the stop sign for the intersection.  This man’s vehicle collided with a truck traveling northbound on NC 242.  The woman driving the truck, Jennifer Mooney, went off the road and overturned into a ditch.

As this was happening, a third vehicle traveling southbound on NC 242 and driven by Candy Jackson tried to brake and went off the roadway to the right to avoid the other two vehicles.  Ms. Jackson’s vehicle collided into a ditch and flipped onto its side.

Ms. Jackson was transported by life-flight to Wakemed.  Her passenger, Christopher Jackson, was taken to Sampson Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Nissan was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and no operator’s license.
