A gentleman named James McCandless was tragically killed on Thursday afternoon when he was hit by a car while walking along NC Highway 11 near Pink Hill, North Carolina.
According to available information, Mr. McCandless was a resident of an assisted living facility but was out walking in the road when he was hit by a southbound car. The assisted living facility was less than a mile from the site of the accident. Under these circumstances, we would have some questions as to why Mr. McCandless was away from the assisted living facility and whether he should have been supervised at the time of the wreck.
Mr. McCandless was 52 years old at the time of this accident and reports indicate he was from Jacksonville, North Carolina.
