Jeep Causes Two Fayetteville Wrecks and Two Deaths

A Jeep driving eastbound on Shaw Mill Road in Fayetteville on Wednesday caused two wrecks.

The first wreck happened when the Jeep crossed the centerline and struck a Volkswagen traveling in the opposite direction.  Shortly after hitting the Volkswagen, the Jeep hit a 2007 Saturn and overturned and came to rest on top of the Saturn.

The driver of the Jeep was killed as was a passenger in the Saturn, Marcel Gist.  The driver of the Saturn, Kennard Ruffin, was airlifted to UNC Hospitals with serious injuries.  A third passenger in the Saturn, David Dixon, was also hospitalized with injuries.
