Joel Camacho Ortiz Killed in Fayetteville NC Hit-and-Run Crash

A gentleman named Joel Camacho Ortiz was tragically killed on Saturday evening in a hit-and-run crash in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The crash happened just after 8:15 pm near the 6800 block of Buttermere Drive.  According to reports, Mr. Ortiz was walking along the side of the roadway when a BMW ran off the side of the road and struck him.  Mr. Ortiz was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center but did not survive.  He was 33 years old.

The BMW flipped into the adjacent yard and the driver apparently fled on foot.  Police are looking for the driver and anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 910-483-8477.
