A terrible accident on Interstate 440 near Raleigh on Saturday afternoon has claimed one life and caused serious injuries to a second person.
The accident happened around 5:15 pm near the split with I-40 and I-440 in the area of Jones Franklin Road. According to reports, a man driving a Toyota pickup crossed the median and hit a Toyota Prius driven by Rex Todd. Mr. Todd was killed in the crash. His wife Mary Todd suffered serious injuries. The driver of the pickup will be arrested and charged with several crimes including driving while impaired. He was also injured but is expected to recover.
