Thomasville, NC resident Bobby Lambert was mowing his yard with his riding lawnmower on Tuesday when the unthinkable happened. A pickup truck apparently swerved to avoid a loose dog and drove into Mr. Lambert’s yard hitting him on the lawnmower.
As a result of the wreck, Mr. Lambert did not survive. The driver of the pickup was not injured. Apparently, State Highway Patrol officers are trying to determine whether to press charges.
This terrible accident is unusual but would seem to implicate several North Carolina driving laws including the reckless driving statutes which can be found at N.C.G.S. 20-140.
