A gentleman named Joshua Tate was working to install road reflectors along Interstate 73/74 when he was seriously injured in an accident.  The accident happened when a tractor trailer traveling north on I-73/74 rammed into the rear of Mr. Tate’s maintenance road truck near Seagrove on Saturday afternoon.

As a result of the impact, Mr. Tate’s truck flipped over with Mr. Tate trapped inside.  Mr. Tate was extracted and airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for treatment.  The driver of the tractor-trailer has been charged with a failure to reduce speed.

The driver of the tractor-trailer has claimed that he did not see Mr. Tate’s maintenance truck.  Under North Carolina law, the tractor-trailer driver would certainly have a duty to maintain a proper lookout and to reduce speed in this circumstance.  Hopefully, Mr. Tate will recover form his injuries and be fairly compensated for his damages.
