5. How can I get updates regarding the status of my case or legal matter?The easiest way to request an update is by sending an email to the lawyer handling your case.
6. Are courts of law still open in my area? Will my court date be rescheduled? What if I can’t come to court because I’m sick or quarantined?State courts in North Carolina are closed but the clerks in each county are accepting new filings. The bankruptcy courts are still conducting business and are handling motions remotely.
7. Will scheduled depositions, mediation, arbitration, or settlement negotiations occur as planned?Most scheduled depositions, mediations, and arbitrations are being postponed. Most settlement negotiations are occurring as previously planned.
