Impaired Driver Causes Multiple Injuries in Durham NC Wreck on Angier Avenue

Three people were hospitalized with serious injuries following a wreck involving an impaired driver on Angier Avenue in Durham, North Carolina on Wednesday evening.  The wreck happened around 7:20 pm when a car ran a stop sign while driving south on Guthrie Avenue at the intersection with Angier Avenue.  The driver then lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole and then bounced off that pole and hit a car driven by Murial Higgins.

Ms. Higgins was seriously injured as was a passenger in the first car named Kimberly Ross.  The driver of the first car, David Barnes, has been charged with driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license, careless and reckless driving, and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

This wreck is a terrible example of irresponsible driving resulting in serious injuries to innocent victims.  Hopefully, the folks injured in this wreck will recover.
