A wreck during Friday’s rush hour on Interstate 40 near I-440 and Jones Franklin Road has resulted in injuries to a driver named Michael Davis.

The wreck happened when Mr. Davis slowed for traffic and was rear-ended.

Information about the accident suggests that Mr. Davis slowed quickly but such an action would not absolve the following driver of the duty to maintain a safe distance and a duty to timely brake to avoid the collision.

An employee of Bear Creek Arsenal in Sanford, North Carolina was seriously injured on Wednesday in what is reported to be an equipment malfunction. The incident occurred sometime around 4:00 p.m. and resulted in the employee requiring helicopter transport to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

This serious wreck happened at the intersection of N.C. Highway 24 and Highway 58 on Thursday afternoon at around 5:45 p.m. According to available information, two trucks and a car were involved in the crash which appears to have included a head-on impact.

At least one of the injured victims was taken by helicopter to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina for treatment of serious injuries. One other victim was taken by ambulance to the Naval Medical Center at Camp Lejeune.

The accident happened on January 19 on the U.S. Highway 17 bypass at around 10:00 am. According to available reports, Ms. Gatling was a passenger in a car driven by Ms. Saunders that their car was stopped along the roadway. A man driving a Honda sedan then hit their vehicle from behind. The resulting crash caused the death of both Ms. Gatling and Ms. Saunders. A serious accident in the small Pitt County, North Carolina community of Chicod has result in injuries to at least one person.

The wreck happened at around 11:00 am on Tuesday when a Ford Explorer driving east on Stokestown St. John Road did not yield at the intersection with N.C. Highway 43 and struck a Jeep SUV. The Jeep was traveling north on N.C. 43.

The resulting collision knocked the Jeep into the building for Lee’s Wood Furniture. The driver of the Jeep was taken to Vidant Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

On Friday night, a woman riding a bicycle was seriously injured when she was hit by a van on Hodge Road. The wreck happened in a crosswalk near the location where the Mingo Creek Greenway crosses Hodge Road.

According to available information, the 1996 Ford Econoline van failed to yield to the woman and hit her in the crosswalk.

The woman was taken to the hospital with critical injuries but was expected to survive.

The serious accident happened on Monday on Airport Road in Fayetteville, North Carolina. According to available information, an employee of the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation department had stopped a truck in the left lane of Airport Road while the employee planted shrubs in the median.

The accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 74-76 and N.C. Highway 87 sometime on Wednesday morning. According to available information, a pickup truck pulled out from a stop sign at the intersection into the path of an oncoming car. Sinclair Larson, an All American swimmer in 2019 at the University of Tennessee, was seriously injured on Sunday evening as she was walking her dog in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

A young woman named Kendra Connelly was tragically killed on Monday night in a motorcycle crash near Boiling Springs Lakes, North Carolina. The wreck is the second motorcycle fatality in this small Brunswick County community within the past few weeks.

A gentleman named Floyd Butler was tragically killed in a crash on Thursday near Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

The wreck took place on NC Highway 87 near Wildwood Drive at just before 5:00 p.m. According to available information, Mr. Butler was driving northbound on Highway 87 when a man traveling southbound overcorrected and hit Mr. Butler.
