Dakota Hendrix Dies in Wilkesboro Moped Accident

Hendren Redwine & Malone

As reported by the Winston-Salem Journal, 17 year old Dakota Hendrix was killed while riding his moped along US 421 in Wilkesboro on Tuesday night. Reports are that 19 year old Thomas Nevens was driving 65 mph and failed to reduce speed as he approached the moped. This is the second moped death in Wilkes County in less than a week.

Our sympathies are with the Hendrix family. Mopeds, like bicycles and motorcycles, are entitled to the full use of the roads in North Carolina. Unfortunately, many drivers fail to follow the law on this and terrible accidents happen.

If you have a question about your rights in a moped or bicycle wreck, call Mike Malone at Hendren & Malone.
