A terrible wreck on Sunday night in Brunswick County has claimed one life. The wreck happened when a police officer was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Tahoe which caused the police officer to hit a minivan head-on.
The driver of the minivan, Jack Kirkland, was killed in the wreck. The driver of the Tahoe was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The police officer was also treated at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and is still hospitalized.
The driver of the Tahoe has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
