Donald Gray Killed in Goldsboro NC Crash

Goldsboro, NC (May 15, 2020) – Donald Gray Killed in Goldsboro NC Crash

A gentleman named Donald Gray was tragically killed on Thursday morning near Goldsboro, North Carolina when he was hit from behind by a tractor-trailer.

The tragic wreck happened on US Highway 70 Bypass at around 6:30 in the morning near the Wayne County and Lenoir County line.  Mr. Gray was driving a farm service truck when a UPS tractor-trailer struck him from behind.

The impact of the collision was so severe that it caused Mr. Gray’s truck to flip multiple times and Mr. Gray was ejected from the vehicle.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Gray was a lifelong volunteer with the New Hope Fire Department and he was 57 years old.

At this point, there is no clear indication as to why the tractor-trailer failed to reduce speed and hit Mr. Gray’s truck.  The accident is under investigation by the State Highway Patrol and if we learn more about the cause of this terrible wreck, we will update this post.
