A gentleman named Raeshawn Perry was walking along the shoulder of Interstate 40 in Greensboro when he was struck and killed by a passing motorist.
The accident happened near the exit of I-40 and Martin Luther King Boulevard sometime around 5:00 am. Greensboro police have arrested the driver of the car that struck Mr. Perry and charged him with several crimes arising from the wreck including misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
At this time, there is no clear indication as to why the driver entered the shoulder where Mr. Perry was walking. Apparently, police have ordered a blood toxicology test to determine if the driver was under the influence of any impairing substance.
