Mount Holly, NC (January 28, 2021) – A young man named Devin Valentine was the victim of a hit-and-run crash in Mount Holly, North Carolina on Friday.  Tragically, Mr. Valentine passed away from his injuries sustained in the incident.  The incident happened near the intersection of West Charlotte Avenue and West Central Avenue.

The driver of the responsible vehicle has now been arrested a suspect and he has been charged with multiple crimes including second-degree murder, felony hit-and-run, and reckless driving.

Mr. Valentine was 23 years old when he was hit and killed.

Chapel Hill, NC (November 11, 2020) – Pedestrian Sinclair Larson Seriously Injured in Chapel Hill, NC Accident

Sinclair Larson, an All American swimmer in 2019 at the University of Tennessee, was seriously injured on Sunday evening as she was walking her dog in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

According to available information, Ms. Larson was walking across the street in a marked crosswalk with flashing lights when she and her dog were struck by a vehicle.  Mr. Larson was taken to UNC Hospital with serious injuries.  Her dog Jasper was also injured.

Greensboro, NC (June 29, 2020) – Raymond Cheek Killed in Greensboro, NC Pedestrian Accident

A gentleman named Raymond Cheek was tragically killed on Friday when he was hit by an impaired driver in Greensboro, North Carolina on Friday evening.

The incident occurred at just after 10:00 pm near the intersection of East Market Street and Gillespie Street.  Mr. Cheek was walking as a pedestrian when a Charlotte man driving 2011 Lexus SUV hit him.

Carolina Beach, NC (June 1, 2020) – LEGAL NEWS – Man Killed in Carolina Beach NC Hit-and-Run

A man was killed this week in a terrible hit-and-run accident in Carolina Beach, North Carolina.

The incident occurred on Carolina Beach Avenue near the 500 block.  According to available information, a 74-year old man was arrested in the incident and charged with numerous crimes including Felony Death by Motor Vehicle, Driving While Impaired, and Hit-and-Run Causing Serious Injury or Death.

A gentleman named Timothy Dickens was tragically killed in a pedestrian versus vehicle crash on NC Highway 109 on Saturday morning.  The wreck happened as Mr. Dickens was walking along the fog line on the edge of the roadway when a Chevrolet pickup drifted over and struck him.

The pickup has been impounded and police are looking for the driver who was not identified.  Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact the North Carolina State Highway Patrol at 800-233-3151.

 

A young man named Trevor Vernon was seriously injured on Friday afternoon in Greensboro, North Carolina.  According to available information, Mr. Vernon was walking along the sidewalk on Gate City Boulevard when a man pulling out of a parking lot hit him.  Reports suggest that Mr. Vernon was walking in accordance with North Carolina law and that the man driving the car may be at fault for this wreck.

Mr. Vernon, who is 21 years old, was taken to Moses Cone Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

We certainly hope that Mr. Vernon will recover from his injuries.  As with many cases involving serious injuries to pedestrians, it remains to be learned whether the person driving the vehicle was possibly distracted at the time of the collision.  Hopefully, the police investigation will provide more information about the cause of this collision.

A woman named Dorothea Ridenour was killed by a hit-and-run driver near Laurinburg, North Carolina last Wednesday.  The wreck happened around 5:30 am as Ms. Ridenour walked to work along US Highway 74 Business.  According to available information, as she was walking, a man driving a pickup hit her from behind knocking her into a ditch.

Available information indicates that Ms. Ridenour was wearing reflective clothing including a reflective shirt and a reflective hat.  She was found by co-workers from the plant where she worked when she did not make it into work that morning.

Police have located the vehicle involved in the collision and the vehicle is associated with Aberdeen Coca-Cola Bottling Company.  The driver of the vehicle is expected to be charged in the collision.

A very serious accident in High Point NC has resulted in the death of a gentleman named Ronald Adams and injuries to his wife Miriam Adams.

The wreck happened on Thursday morning as Mr. and Mrs. Adams walked down a residential street.  As they were walking, they were hit by a woman who had failed to defrost her windshield before driving and, therefore, apparently did not see the Ronald and Miriam Adams.  The driver apparently crossed over the centerline and struck the two pedestrians.

This is a very sad case and this accident appears to have been preventable had the driver taken the time to ensure that she could see before driving.  Charges are pending against the driver.

A gentleman named Mark Scott was tragically killed on Friday morning in an accident on NC Highway 62 in Randolph County, North Carolina.

Reports indicate that Mr. Scott was walking along NC 62 with a gas can when another driver turned around to offer him a ride.  As this was happening, a third vehicle approached but did not slow down and, instead, veered off the road and hit Mr. Scott.

Unfortunately, Mr. Scott did not survive.  He was 57 years old and from Trinity, North Carolina.

A young man named Dejan Foster was tragically killed on Friday night when he was hit while rollerblading on Old Oxford Road.

The wreck happened around 10:30 pm when a man driving north on Old Oxford Road made an illegal pass of an SUV and came into Mr. Foster’s lane as he was rollerblading. There are some indications the vehicle driver was also speeding at the time of the collision and the driver has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and speeding in conjunction with this incident.

Mr. Foster was 24 years old.
