A very scary and serious accident late Thursday happened when a log become dislodged from a tractor-trailer and came crashing through the windshield of a car.
The accident apparently happened on U.S. Highway 1 near Vass, North Carolina when the tractor-trailer hauling logs went under a bridge and one of the logs caught the underside of the bridge. The log then snapped in two and one section flew back and went into the car that was following the tractor-trailer. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

This accident and the circumstances are certainly unusual and pose many questions.- Who was responsible for loading the truck and ensuring that the logs were stacked to the proper height? Was the driver also involved in the loading of the truck or did the driver have assistance? My guess is that the driver is not the only responsible party in causing this wreck and all parties involved should be held accountable.
