Gregory Gerald and Russell Kearney Seriously Injured in Interstate 85 Crash Near Lexington, North Carolina

A very serious crash on Interstate 85 near Lexington, North Carolina on Wednesday morning happened when a woman driving a Toyota Camry crossed from the northbound lanes of I-85 and hit a tractor-trailer headed southbound on the interstate.  According to reports, the woman became distracted when something fell onto the floorboard of her car and lost control of her vehicle.  The car crossed the median and hit the tractor-trailer driven by Gregory Gerald causing the tractor-trailer to veer off the roadway and down an embankment into a tree.  Mr. Gerald and his passenger Russell Kearney were both seriously injured.

The 17 year old driver was charged with failure to maintain lane control.
