Salisbury, NC (June 29, 2020) – Jenny Gabriel Killed in Salisbury NC Workplace Accident
A woman named Jenny Gabriel was tragically killed in a workplace accident near Salisbury, North Carolina last Thursday.
The tragic incident occurred at the Dillard’s Distribution Center on Peach Orchard Road just before 12:00 noon. Available information indicates that Ms. Gabriel was checking a seal on the back of a tractor-trailer when the rig backed into her.
Apparently, Ms. Gabriel had motioned for the driver to move forward so check could perform her inspection. After that, there appears to have been some confusion between Ms. Gabriel and the rig driver who, after going to the restroom, pulled forward while Ms. Gabriel was between the two tandem trailers. Upon pulling froward, it appears that a tire from the second trailer struck Ms. Gabriel leading to her death.
Police indicate that no charges will be filed in this incident. However, the facts of this case indicate that Ms. Gabriel’s family have have several claims including a workers compensation claim and a claim for possible negligence on the part of the rig driver.
