Pender County NC Head-On Collision Results in Three Dead

A terrible and tragic accident on Sunday in Pender County NC has resulted in the deaths of three people.

The accident happened around 7 pm on Highway 11.  According to reports, a woman driving at a high rate of speed crossed the center line and hit a car driven by a second woman.  The second woman had her two young children in the car.  Both woman died as did the six year girl in the second car.  A boy in the second car was transported to UNC for medical treatment.

This type of accident is among the worst on the roadways of North Carolina.  Head-on collisions on rural NC highways happens all too frequently and the families of the victims have our deepest sympathy.
