An accident Wednesday afternoon on I-540 in Raleigh was apparently the result of an accumulation of water on the highway.
Apparently, the accident happened when a driver, Janice Alexander-Taylor, was attempting to merge onto I-540 from Falls of Neuse Road when she hit a puddle of water and lost control of her vehicle.
The car then hit two other cars including a vehicle driven by Suzanne Collins. Ms. Collins was taken to Wakemed for treatment of her injuries.
Ms. Taylor was charge with driving too fast for conditions.
