A gentleman named Ward Miller was tragically killed in an accident on Interstate 40 near Iredell, North Carolina on Wednesday afternoon.
The wreck happened at around 2:20 pm between mile markers 156 and 155 where apparently there was heavy traffic. According to available information, Mr. Miller was stopped in the right lane due to traffic and a 2001 Peterbilt tractor-trailer swerved in attempt to avoid the stopped traffic and struck Mr. Miller.
Mr. Miller was pronounced dead at the accident scene. A passenger in Mr. Miller’ scar was transported to a hospital for treatment. Mr. Miller was 65 years old and from Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The Peterbilt tractor-trailer also hit a Chevrolet pickup truck causing injuries to the driver.
