Moped driver Russell Bolton was injured on Wednesday when he was hit by a car on South Church Street in Burlington, North Carolina.

The accident happened when a driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer failed to reduce speed and hit Mr. Bolton.  The Chevy driver then continued on to hit another vehicle driven by Addie Richmond when then caused Ms. Richmond’s vehicle to hit a car driven by James Pingle.  Ms. Richmond, a passenger in Ms. Richmond’s car and Mr. Pringle were also taken to the hospital.

A terrible motorcycle versus truck accident in Smithfield, North Carolina has claimed the lives of three people.

The accident happened on Sunday evening near the intersection of Buffalo Road and US Highway 70.  According to reports, a motorcycle driven by Ricky Mooneyhan collided with a truck driven by Ralph Rose.  Mr. Monneyhan and Mr. Rose died as a result of the crash as did a passenger on the motorcycle named Jennifer Sabato.

Based on various reports, it appears that police are saying that both Mr. Mooneyhan and Mr. Rose are at fault in this terrible wreck.

A terrible and tragic ATV accident near Fayetteville has claimed the life of an 11 year old boy .

The accident apparently happened when the young boy was riding on the back of the ATV driven by another child.  the other child lost control and crashed killing his young passenger.  Apparently the passenger was not wearing a helmet.

This accident is a terrible tragedy that probably could have been avoided.  Under North Carolina law, children under 12 should never operate an ATV without adult supervision and under 16 only with adult supervision.  Where were the supervising adults in this case that allowed a boy on an ATV without a helmet?  Read more on North Carolina ATV laws.

A gentlemen named Rodney Bryant was seriously injured on Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on Old Salisbury Road near Lexington.

According to reports, the accident happened when Mr. Bryant crossed the center line and struck a truck.  However, reports indicate that Mr. Bryant was traveling in the eastbound direction on Old Salisbury Road and that his motorcycle came to rest on the eastbound shoulder.  Hopefully, the police will fully investigate this accident and not simply blame the motorcyclist as it seems there could be questions about how the wreck occurred based on the resting place of the motorcycle.

A terrible accident on Monday afternoon has claimed the life of a Virginia gentlemen who was riding his motorcycle in Brunswick County, North Carolina.

The accident apparently happened when a sheriff’s deputy failed to yield to the motorcyclist on Old Ocean Highway near Calabash.  The deputy has been charged with misdmeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield.

Another tragic accident involving a motorcycle has claimed the life of rider Dannie Simmons in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The accident happened Friday when a Honda CR-V struck Mr. Simmons bike.  The wreck happened near the intersection of Cliffdale and Jennings Farm roads and police are apparently still investigating the wreck.

A serious wreck involving two motorcycles and a truck near Reidsville, North Carolina on Sunday evening has claimed one life and resulted in serious injuries to another person.

The wreck apparently happened on N.C. 87 near Combs Road around 5:45 p.m.  A male motorcyclist was killed and a female motorcyclist was taken to Moses Cohn Hospital for treatment.  Police are still investigating the accident.

Motorcyclists Michael Carter and Dorothy Carter of Clinton, North Carolina were seriously injured on Labor Day when an elderly woman apparently pulled into their path on Sand Ridge Road near Jacksonville.

Michael Carter was apparently driving the Harley Davidson motorcycle and his wife Dorothy was a passenger and they were riding along Sand Ridge Road when the woman pulled out of a Dollar General Store directly into their path.  Mr. Carter was hospitalized with serious injuries and Mrs. Carter was taken to a different hospital with injuries that allowed her to be released.

A motorcyclist from Wilmington was killed on Thursday night when a car turn into his path on Carolina Beach Road.

The motorcyclist, Louis Jaeger, was 57 years old.  The other driver faces charges for misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
