A gentleman named Brian Long was walking along Guess Road just outside of Durham, NC on Monday when he was struck and killed by a motorist.

The tragic accident happened around 12:15 pm and apparently the roadway has a very narrow shoulder at this location.  It is unclear from reports why the driver did not see Mr. Long walking along the roadway.  A second person with Mr. Long suffered minor injuries.

In many pedestrian cases there is a question whether the driver should have seen the pedestrian due to various road conditions or because the accident was at night.  In this case, the accident was during the daytime so it is certainly questionable as to why this accident occurred.
